Hump Day #2

Good evening everyone!  It's been a few days since my last update, so let's catch up! 

I've been doing a lot of web design and updating for HotHouse, so check it out and let me know what you think... 

I got the contact sheet back from Birmingham Home and Garden from "Christmas in the City", there were some great images! I can't wait till they are published. I also made a stop by Gallery Services to get a design vision, and I am very excited about the event. It's going to be a great night for a great cause! 

I got info on the Style in the Sky bridal show... I am thinking Confero is going to do it, so get excited. 

Someone inspire me for my display? Any thoughts?

Here I Go Again

Good evening everyone! 

I'm lounging around now watching the Oscars, and I have to say it has been a great production. I hope you all have gotten to see all of the great numbers and award winners. 

Moving on - my typical Sunday routine : Catch up on house work and get ready for the week ahead. I had a couple appointments today however, and they were great. My last appointment was with the team from the Service Guild. This year the gala I am designing is the largest in the city! How exciting! I am going to be working with some of my best vendors - HotHouse Design Studio, AG Lighting & BA Warehouse. The theme is "The Road Ahead" - our  team selected Hollywood Boulevard, and I will be taking an old Hollywood glam spin. A red carpet, Casablanca, signature cocktails, unique lighting scheme... it is going to be a great party! 

Busy, busy Monday. Hitting the ground running at 7:30 a.m.  Appointments all day, meeting with vendors & brides. So much to do and never enough time to accomplish everything. I hope everyone has a great week. Be productive! Talk soon.

Everybody's Workin' for the Weekend!

Hello Everyone! I hope your week wrapped up well, and you have super fun plans for the weekend! For me, it'll be work, work, work as usual. :-)

For those of you who don't know, I work during the week with Mandy Majerik, proprietress of HotHouse Design Studio, and one of Confero's amazing floral vendors. We have been setting the store for spring, and it is turning out beautifully! Come down to the Lakeview location and see our hard work. 

Weekly Wrap Up: Great things in the works for some of my brides! New bride this week - Intimate family ceremony in a wine vineyard at Chateau Élan,  and Confero will be designing a fabulous reception at the Matt Jones Gallery - such a great space. I am also in the process of planning my best friends wedding - who you might ask?? I have the honor of planning my mother's wedding. What a celebration it is going to be. I am so amazingly excited. We are designing a quaint family wedding in a small country chapel in the mountains. I couldn't feel any more blessed! 

More work tomorrow, and meetings on Sunday, and all day Monday..

Hump Day.

Hello All - 

Happy Hump day! Half way to the weekend! Anyone have fun plans? Tell me about them... 

I heard back from one of my brides today about her venue decision. Earlier this week we'd looked at a couple places, and she selected The Loft at Flowerstems. They are doing some great renovations at the downtown location, and it's going to be a great event. 

Will be making appointments with other vendors to get everything going. It's wedding season!!! 

To be able to make a bride's biggest dreams become her reality is so rewarding! I absolutely love my job. Have some new bridal appointments tomorrow evening, so more coming for Confero. 

Also, heard from my dear friend who is a member of the Service Guild. Confero will be putting together the decor for one of the Dinner Galas again this year - March 7th at Gallery Services. So if that is the dinner you will be attending, get excited. I am pulling in my best vendors to contribute and it's going to be fantastic! 

If you recall, last year my decor for the event landed me the cover feature for the entertainment issue of Birmingham Home & Garden. 

Daily Soup -

So today was a rainy Tuesday. Even fabulous event designers have so-so rainy Tuesdays. :-)

Point of interest - I contacted the Public Relations department from Auburn University today to post a social media internship for Confero. I am totally confident in the PR program from AU and know that social media is such an important medium for any business. I will be posting the job description very soon to the website, so if anyone is interested keep checking back and we can discuss. It is open to anyone who feels qualified, not just a PR student/professional. 

Normal rest of my day - worked, meetings, gym, and home to take care of business things.
